Ghyll Head Weather Station

We have now installed the digital weather station on the roof of the centre, this uses a wireless connection to send its data to displays in the house and Bungalow allowing visitors to view data including wind speed, humidity, barometric pressure ,UV radiation, temperature and windchill.

We are have set up an internet connection to the station which will allow you to see in realtime the weather at the centre as well as a history of the metorlogical conditions ranging from yearly to daily records. When combined with the Bungalow webcam as well as seeing the technical data you will be able to view the results in realtime, watching the cloud formations of fronts as they build up over the mountains and seeing the pressure changes and other information associated with the weather system.

The station was setup with funding from  Manchesters City Learning Centres who have all got the same weather stations, the following link goes to the central weather site from there you can choose to see detailed meteorlogical information from any of the stations.
