To view the birdcam you need to press the 'Choose Camera' dropdown from the applet above

We now have two high quality webcams at the centre both of which have eight different views.

The 'Cam 1' camera on the Bungalow gives great views of the Coniston and Langdale fells as well as the lake. This helps to complement the weather station enabling visitors not only to see the technical meteorlogical data but to actually see what this looks like in the way of cloud formations and effects on the local environment .

Cam 2 is the Bird Cam and is set up outside of the dining room on the main house and allows you to monitor our bird feeders. They attract a whole variety of small birds such as the sparrow and blue tit as well as pheasants and ducks, they also atttact mammals such as squirrels and if you are lucky you may even see the badgers. We are working on a number of projects that will allow schools to use this camera to good effect.

Please note that the cameras at the moment are running at a high frame rate and we would recommend using a broadband connection for best results.Your browser must be capable of using Java, or Flash Player 5.0 and above and Javascript. If you are using IE7 you may be asked to insatll an active x component, or may notice a yellow bar appear at the top of the browser, please click this to install the component.
